Last week at Seacoast we discussed insecurities. Sadly we all have them, but once we know of them we can then know how to attack them. This week came from Acts 26.
1. Understand the Insecurities: What are they? My biggest insecurity that I have lived with has to be failure in others eyes. Am I doing the right thing? Am I doing something that "they" won't like. You have to know what your insecurities are so that you can attack them!
So with that how do you cope?
* avoid the situation
* find the scriptures that will aide in helping you cope
* place your hope, faith, and trust in something that can't be take away
Using the acronym SHAPE, you can see what God has done for you and how you can use those things to overcome your insecurities!

Heart (passions)
Abilities (talents)
Personality
Experiences
Love this quote: "The purpose God has for me will include ever increasingly challenges so I will remain uncomfortable and I will always be dependant on Him!"
This just tells that us that life there are certain things that will occur in order for us to include Him in the situation. If life isn't uncomfortable then we don't seem to rely on God, not on purpose, it's just how we are sadly wired. Until we change our minds and rely on God!
2. Negative thoughts reprogramm us! Take it captive.
Take a moment and think about what does God say about you?
loved, forgiven, new creation, accepted, chosen, unique, gifted...
3. What God says about you should outweigh what others say!
Take those negative thoughts and replace them with the positive things that God tells us about who we are. He loves us more than we can ever imagine and we need to grasp hold of that!
So what is your insecurity? and how does God tell you that he loves you and how does He outweigh that insecurity?

Then there were three days...
Sorry I haven't followed through with my Sunday post from Church, but I do promise to do so.I have two that I haven't posted yet with the notes waiting patiently on me at home.
Sitting here anticipating the last few days of school and realizing that I have learned so much in this 180 days with my classroom children I guess I will do the traditional top ten...
1. Kids aren't raised like they used to be. We used to respect our teachers and respected what they said. Not now as much...
2. Sadly some kids just aren't loved. That is so hard for me to fathom and type. As much as I moan and groan about them I love them and would do what I could to protect them to the fullest extent.. Some parents don't. They send them to school for me to "deal with" in their words.
3. Regardless if you get married or not you will still keep your maiden name forever. I am still Miss Campsen to them. :)
4. Being able to see my bible verses everyday does make it much easier to cope. I have Phil 4:6(don't worry or fret) and 2Chronicles( your work has a reward)around my room and my children know that I am a believer I hope. They can see Him through me.
5. Even the pains make me smile.
6. It is ok to laugh when they say inappropriate things. Sometimes I have to just turn my head even when I know what they said is wrong, it is just so dang funny!
7. There are just some people that you can't please. Regardless of what hoops you jump through you are always the one in the wrong. Now if I could just convince myself of that and practice what I preach and not worry about others... easier said than done heh?
8.Some of these little ones I will miss tremendously. They have taught me how to love unconditionally regardless of what their life has handed them.
9. When former students come back, just as one did today from five years ago, I realize that I have made an impact. One child in particular who comes to see me regularly. As a child he had both legs bowed severely, and when he came to my fifth grade class I wanted to do something. Just didn't seem fair that he had to live life like that. So I got in touch with someone through Shriner's Hospital and arranged for him to have his legs fixed. Free of charge. Within the last two years he has had both legs fixed and is ready now to play football, something he was told he would NEVER do! When he stands tall and through the surgery has grown from 6'1" to 6'5" you realize what the bowing was doing to his growth. He now has beautifully straight legs and convidence of the world. Kids like that help me to go on!!!
10. I do this job for a reason. I might not see it now, but I have a purpose. I am here to raise productive citizens in life and help them to be the best they can be. I am a teacher!

Arrested...
Each Sunday we have been in the book of Acts looking at Paul's story in which the series is called Arrested. Just as Paul was arrested and all of his trials and tribulations he still pursued and pressed on. So my plan is for each Sunday to be a recap of the day. I hope that it blesses you as it has blessed and touched our heart.
Acts 24: 1-26
Lesson 1:
Don't let your religiousity overpower your servosity.
* You are here to serve not to push your religion. Serving leads to generosity.
Lesson 2:
You can't outrun your problems as they will always find you.
*Confront what the issue may be
*Face it, don't give it to someone else
*Say your sorry if you need to
Lesson 3:
You can always find someone to agree wsith you even if you are wrong.
*Don't live in flattery.
*People will see through you.
*Don't be a slick talker.
Lesson 4:
Its often easier to procrastinate making the right decision.
* God has a plan!!!
* Waiting doesn't make it easier so take the opportunity
Lesson 5:
Often people are brought into our lives by God so that we can add value to their lives.
*Give out hospitality
*Take advantage of what is given
Lesson 6:
What men mean for evil God uses for good.
* When Paul was away in prison (evil) he wrote letters, which were then used as the famous aspects of the Bible (good).
Lesson 7:
You can always find a reason to tell God to go away.
* Paul is called to go; he tells others about Christ. Some take it as fear and run away. "I'll call you when I want to talk." You need to be ready when He calls.
