Vacation/Grad Class...

Last week I was able to go to the coast to finish out a class that I was taking. It was through Charleston Southern University and the Santee Cooper Power Plant. It truly was nice to get away except Bo wasn't with me, but nice sea air is always great. I learned tons; not only as a teacher, but just as an adult. There are so many things that I never knew anything about and came home with more knowledge than I went with! It was fun to go with Kelly and we had a blast together. Meeting people from other parts of the state is always an interesting event. Thanks guys for the fun times. Here are some pics of some things that I did while gone.

It was a great week learning and gathering information to take back to my own class. Just such a shame that Bo wasn't there to spend it with me. It was a short vaca while getting in some hours at the same time.

Sadness..

As the new year starts with school in one month I sit and realize how special it is to be a part of such a sweet group where I work. Before school was out our grade level recieved news that one of our teachers would be moving to Kindergarten. With all of the budget cuts that are going on the district is making the decision to move teachers around the building and to other schools rather than hiring new teachers. So we knew that Lisa would be moving to K and I had already settled with it and was sad. Lisa is such a special person to me. She is the voice of reason who will give a good perspective when it is needed. Lisa even though you are just down the hall you will be missed tremendously! Then today an email comes to us from our principal and I had heard through the grapevine that this might be happening but we are also losing another teacher in our grade level. Susan will be going to a wonderful school Fairforest Elementary, where I went to school as a child. I know that she will do an amazing job there, but it doesn't make it easier to let her go. She is always the one who has something witty to say and has been my early morning duty buddy for a while. We just seemed to mesh together. Susan is a great person who knows when you need to be lifted up and she knows how to make you laugh histerically! THANK YOU Susan. You will be missed in our amazing grade level! Love you tons sweet friend!

July 4th was such a fun time to share with family and friends! We have finally moved into our house in Greenville and slowly but surely we are getting comfortable. Few pics of our new house and fun times with our fourth blast!

Eclipse... Again!

I can't wait for June 30th to come our way. It is the premiere of Eclipse the third movie of the Twlight Series. Julie and I are planning to go and see the movie just as we have with the last two of them. Now I don't think that we are planning the midnight showing as last time apparently that didn't turn out as planned. I do remember fully watching all of the movie, but when I got home that day and watched the news I kept seeing parts of the movie that I didn't remember... Yes I fell asleep during the movie and didn't realize it. Also sweet Julie is pregnant and that so wouldn't be fair to make her be out at midnight when she really needs her sleep. Lastly I don't want to hear young sweet girlies screaming during the movie when characters arrive on the screen. So the moral to the story; Sorry Julie. We are old!
So the plan is to reread the Eclipse book again so that I am ready for different parts of the movie, where I WILL be awake. Borrowed the book from Ashley and can't wait to get started on it. Just hoping that with moving I can finish it before next Wednesday!

Wicked Weekend...

I keep forgetting to post about how great a few weekends ago was. I am so blessed to have sweet friends that I can keep in touch with even when they are just a few hours away. Julie and I drove to Rock Hill to spend time with Amanda and her sister Olivia a few weeks ago. We went to see the most amazing show, WICKED! I have seen it before, but it was just as great the second time. I even saw things that I didn't even remember from the first time. We went to Amanda's house and had a little lunch of yummy subs and since it was Julie's 30th birthday we had a surprise ice cream cake. Then we left for the show. It was great as I was saying! Once we left the show we went to have a fun dinner at Cheesecake Factory, another amazing place. It was just so nice to be able to sit and remember fun memories and laugh about them. So nice to sit, talk, and laugh as though there is no tomorrow. I am one blessed girl to have such special people in my life. Thanks Amanda, Olivia, and Julie for one Wicked weekend! Now we just have to get ourselves to New York City to see it again.

Did Our House Throw Up?

The past week or so has been a whirlwind of this and that and now since our family members know we can let the cat out of the bag. We are moving back to Greenville, SC. When Bo and I first started dating he put his house on the market and it has been there for 15 months. I know that it is not the best time to place a house on the market but you would think that within the past year or so that we could even gotten a bite or something; at least with the amount we had dropped on the price.

We have talked about what would be the best situation for us and we decided that moving to Greenville would be best. We go to church at Seacoast in Greenville, have our small group in Greenville, and out of a five day week we spend at least 2 to 3 of those days in Greenville with our friends so it seemed like the feasible thing to do.

In the meantime I think that our house has an upset stomach. Everyday I think that I am getting somewhere with the packing and then I go to bed and then when I awake the next morning it looks as though the house has thrown up. It is becoming an overwhelming process but we are making it.

We are excited as to what this next chapter will bring in our lives. As we get settled we will make pics and post them!!

Summer Read!

I have started reading a book How to Stop the Pain: Pain is inevitable, Suffering is optional that has been a life changer. It applies to daily life and how we deal with the people in our lives. Don't think with the title that you have to have pain or issues. To me it relates to my last post about insecurities. I have been reading it and it has changed how I look at people I meet. It is something that a dear friend recommended to Bo and I to read. She says that she reads it once a year and gets something different each time she reads it. So I wanted to share it with all my sweet friends!
